Grey Heron [Ardea cinerea]
Grey Herons are nice friends to a novice
birder as they are mostly stationary. But some of them are quite touchy about
personal space so I needed to keep a decent distance from them not to
unnecessarily cause them to waste their flight energy.
But this grey heron at a resort in Maldives
was quite accustomed to people and his favorite fishing site was right below
the wooden walkway to the beach houses.
After observing him for more than an hour,
finally he demonstrated his fishing skill twice in a row. He tried to teach me
about patience but I know he was just picky.
Good to know he stuffed his stomach before
the harsh thunderstorm!!
